Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 16, 2026
This page explains exactly what we store in your browser and why. By default, we use three localStorage keys for functionality and zero tracking cookies. If you want the broader privacy context, see our Privacy Policy.
What we actually store
Modern web browsers provide localStorage — a simple key/value store that lives in your browser. It serves the same purpose as traditional cookies for the use cases below, without leaving the browser. We use localStorage (not cookies) for all three of the keys described here.
| Key | Category | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| veredgeTheme | Essential | Remembers your dark/light theme preference across visits. |
| veredgeA11y | Essential | Remembers your accessibility settings (font size, contrast, reduced motion, dyslexia font, big cursor, etc.). |
| veredgeCookieConsent | Essential | Records your consent choice so we don't ask you on every visit. |
None of these keys contains personal information. They contain preferences (strings, booleans, numbers) and a timestamp.
Optional categories (off by default)
Analytics
If you opt in via the consent banner, we may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool to measure aggregate usage — which pages people visit, how long they stay, where they drop off. We do not use Google Analytics or any ad-network tool. Analytics data is aggregated and cannot identify you personally.
Marketing
If you opt in via the consent banner, we may use tracking pixels to measure the performance of our own outreach campaigns. We do not sell, rent, or share this data with third-party advertisers.
Both categories are off by default. You won't be tracked unless you explicitly accept them.
Third-party services (may set their own cookies)
Some third-party tools embedded on our site may set their own cookies subject to their own privacy policies:
- Calendly — embedded on our Contact page for scheduling. Calendly sets cookies for session management and analytics. See Calendly's Privacy Policy.
- Google Fonts (Inter, JetBrains Mono) — loaded via Next.js
next/fontat build time. Fonts are served from our own domain; Google does not receive your IP for font loading.
How to manage your preferences
You can change your cookie preferences at any time.
Or clear your browser's localStorage for veredge.ai to wipe all stored preferences. In Chrome: DevTools → Application → Storage → Clear storage.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information (CCPA/CPRA)
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
If you are a California resident and want to formalize this preference, enable the Do Not Sell / Share toggle in the cookie preferences panel. This records an explicit opt-out flag in your veredgeCookieConsent entry.
Full CCPA rights — including the right to know, delete, correct, and limit use of sensitive personal information — are described in our Privacy Policy, Section 7.
Changes to this policy
If we add new categories of storage or change what we collect, we'll update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top. If the change is material (for example, adding a new tracking provider), we'll ask you to re-confirm your consent before the change takes effect.
